Sorry, no photos today. I finished up just in time to dash for the early train after a full day of drafting and cutting. As of now, I’ve got my breeches AND waistcoat drafted and cut out in muslin (or calico, as they say here – how little-house-on-the-prairie!). I had every intention of recording exactly how long each stage took, but it all got a bit muddled up in between tea breaks and barreling on without checking the time. At a guess, the waistcoat took about two-and-a-half hours to draft, and cutting everything out took about three hours.
Tomorrow we’re going fabric shopping, which may or may not take the entire day. I am making it my personal goal not to dither about, and to choose fabrics and buttons with CONVICTION. We’ll see how that goes. I’m hoping it’ll only take half a day, because then we can spend a few hours actually SEWING! Wouldn’t it be great if I had a toile to show you guys by the end of tomorrow?! We’ll see how it goes.
Toodle pip!
